Why Accuracy Matters
Non-Biased & Consistent
Every scorekeeper should record the same play the same way. Consistent, unbiased scoring means fair stats for every player on every team.
All-Star Selection
GameChanger stats are one factor managers consider during All-Star selection. Accurate scoring ensures every kid gets a fair look.
Player Safety
Pitch count rules exist to protect developing arms from overuse injuries. You are the last line of defense. When in doubt, pull the pitcher.
Our goal: non-biased, accurate, and consistent scoring — every game, every team.
GameChanger — Getting Started
How to start, manage, and close out a game in the app
Starting a Game
- Open GameChanger and find the game on your schedule
- Tap "Score Game" — first person to tap becomes the scorer
- Set starting lineups for both teams from existing rosters
Do NOT Add Players
- Never add or remove players from rosters — this is managed by the league
- Set lineups only from players already on the roster
- If a player is missing, tell the coach — don't add them yourself
During the Game
- Record every pitch, play, and substitution as it happens
- Use the lineup screen to make subs — tap and drag players
- Made a mistake? You can edit past plays during the game
Closing Out a Game
- When the game ends, go to Game Menu and tap "End Game"
- Use "Exit Game" only if you plan to resume scoring later
- After finalizing, the box score is locked — double-check first
Want to try the interface before game day? Use Practice Scoring mode — it won't affect real stats.

Pitch Count Limits & Rest
Daily Limits
Rest Calculator
Daily limit: 85 pitches
Key Rules
No pitcher may pitch on 3 consecutive calendar days — no exceptions
Caught 4+ innings today → cannot pitch today (1 pitch in the 4th inning counts as 4 innings caught)
Pitched 41+ pitches today → cannot catch today
Caught ≤3 innings, then pitched 21+ pitches → cannot return to catching today
Rest threshold is determined by the first pitch thrown to a new batter. Pitcher may finish facing a batter after reaching the limit.

6 Innings
Standard game length. The umpire manages time limits — your job is to keep the book accurate.
Suspended Games
Pitches thrown in suspended/tie games still count against pitch count eligibility.
⚡ Dropped 3rd Strike (Rule 6.05)
Batter may attempt to reach first base on an uncaught third strike. Catcher must throw out the runner.
📋 Continuous Batting Order (Optional)
"A league may adopt a policy of a continuous batting order that will include all players on the team roster present for the game batting in order." Without CBO, the batting order shall be followed throughout the game — substitutes must take the place of the replaced player's position in the batting order.
